45° Buttweld Elbows

ASME B16.9 | 45° Long Radius & Short Radius Elbows | Butt-Welding Pipe Fittings

Elite 45° Buttweld Elbows are factory-made wrought fittings designed to change the direction of piping by 45 degrees while maintaining a smooth, welded connection to the adjoining pipe. They are available in long-radius and short-radius configurations, with dimensions, tolerances and manufacturing requirements according to applicable ASME B16.9 requirements.

45° elbows are widely used where a gradual directional change is required, including oil & gas pipelines, petrochemical plants, refineries, chemical processing, power generation and industrial piping systems.

Elbow Configurations

45° Long Radius Elbow

The standard 45° long-radius configuration provides a gradual directional change with reduced flow disturbance compared with tighter-radius configurations. ASME B16.9 provides dimensional tables for 45° LR elbows. s

45° Short Radius Elbow

A compact 45° configuration used where installation space is limited and the project piping design permits a shorter bend radius.

Seamless 45° Elbow

Manufactured from seamless pipe or billet for applications requiring seamless construction.

Welded 45° Elbow

Manufactured from welded material where permitted by the applicable material specification and project requirements.

Fabricated 45° Elbow

Custom-fabricated elbows for large diameters, special wall thicknesses, non-standard geometry or project-specific requirements.
