ASME B16.5 | Threaded Flanges | RF / FF / RTJ | Class 150–2500
Threaded Flanges, also known as Screwed Flanges, are designed with an internal female thread that connects directly to externally threaded pipe. They provide a practical flanged connection without welding and are commonly used where welding is undesirable, impractical, or restricted.
Threaded Flanges are particularly suitable for selected small-bore, low-to-moderate temperature and pressure piping applications where the pipe material and service conditions permit a threaded connection.
Elite supplies Threaded Flanges in carbon steel, stainless steel, alloy steel, low-temperature carbon steel, duplex and super duplex stainless steel, nickel alloys, and copper-nickel alloys. Products are manufactured and supplied in accordance with applicable ASME, ASTM, MSS, EN, DIN, BS and customer project specifications.

Raised Face — RF
The most common configuration for general process and industrial piping applications.
Product designation: Threaded RF Flange
Flat Face — FF
Used where a full-face mating surface is required, including selected piping and equipment applications.
Product designation: Threaded FF Flange
Ring Type Joint — RTJ
Available for applicable configurations where a metallic ring gasket sealing arrangement is required.
Product designation: Threaded RTJ Flange
Threaded Flanges can be supplied with thread configurations specified by the project.
Common U.S. thread requirements include:
ASME B1.20.1 — NPT (National Pipe Thread)
Other thread forms may be supplied where required by applicable international standards or customer specifications.
Elite Threaded Flanges can be supplied with complete quality documentation, including:
Elite supplies:
Threaded Flanges incorporate an internal female thread that engages directly with the external thread of the pipe.
Key characteristics include:
Threaded connections should be evaluated based on pressure, temperature, vibration, cyclic loading, corrosion, pipe material and service conditions. They are generally not preferred for severe cyclic or high-temperature services where a welded connection is more appropriate.
Threaded Flanges are commonly used in selected:
