Threaded / Screwed Swage Nipples

MSS SP-95 | Concentric & Eccentric Swage Nipples | Threaded / Beveled / Socket-Weld Ends | NPS 1/8–12

Elite manufactures and supplies Swage Nipples for connecting different pipe sizes and transitioning between larger and smaller piping components. Swage nipples provide a gradual reduction in outside diameter and are available in concentric and eccentric configurations for a wide range of piping applications.

Swage nipples can be supplied with threaded, beveled, square-cut/socket-weld, grooved or combined end preparations, depending on the piping design. MSS SP-95 covers both concentric and eccentric swage nipples and includes sizes from NPS 1/8 through NPS 12.

Elite can supply swage nipples in carbon steel, alloy steel, stainless steel, duplex, super duplex, nickel alloys and other project-specified materials.

Swage Nipple Configurations

Concentric Swage Nipple

A concentric configuration in which the large and small ends share the same centerline. It provides a symmetrical transition between different pipe sizes.

Eccentric Swage Nipple

An eccentric configuration in which the centerlines are offset. It can be selected where maintaining a flat pipe elevation or preventing liquid accumulation is important.

Threaded Swage Nipple

A swage nipple with threaded end preparation, typically using NPT threads in accordance with ASME B1.20.1.

Threaded × Beveled Swage Nipple

One end is threaded while the opposite end is prepared for butt welding, allowing connection between threaded and butt-weld piping.

Threaded × Socket-Weld Swage Nipple

A combination-end configuration for connecting threaded piping to socket-weld piping where specified.

Custom Swage Nipple

Special reductions, lengths, wall thicknesses, end preparations, materials and dimensional requirements can be supplied according to customer drawings and project specifications.
