ASTM A179 | ASTM A192 | ASTM A210 | ASTM A213 | ASTM A335 — Base tube specification selected by application
Elite supplies fin tubes for heat-transfer equipment where an extended external surface increases heat-transfer capacity. Fin tubes are used in air-cooled heat exchangers, fin-fan coolers, economizers, waste-heat recovery systems, power plants, and petrochemical process facilities.
Available configurations include embedded fin tubes, extruded fin tubes, and L-foot or other specified tension-wound fin tubes. Base tube material, fin material, geometry, and manufacturing method are selected according to the operating temperature, corrosion environment, thermal duty, and project specification.

| The standards above apply to the base tube material where appropriate; they do not by themselves define the complete fin tube's geometry, fin attachment, or thermal performance. | ||

Extruded Fin Tubes
Fins are formed from an outer metal sleeve over the base tube, creating a mechanically integrated fin structure. Often selected for applications requiring robust fin attachment and corrosion protection of the covered tube surface, subject to the design.

Embedded (G-Type) Fin Tubes
Fins are mechanically embedded into a groove formed in the base tube. This configuration provides a mechanically secured fin-to-tube connection for specified operating conditions.

L-Foot and Related Wound Fin Tubes
Metal strip is wound around the base tube with an L-shaped foot or specified variation. Selection depends on operating temperature, corrosion exposure, thermal performance, and fin-retention requirements.
Ordering information: Base Tube Standard + Grade + Tube OD + Wall Thickness + Fin Type + Fin Material + Fin Height + Fin Pitch + Length + Quantity + Inspection.
Example: Carbon Steel Base Tube ASTM A179, specified OD and wall thickness, extruded aluminium fins, specified fin height and pitch, 6 m length, with inspection and packing according to project requirements.
